Luka Flowers, BORN IN 2004

Hello, My name is Luka Flowers, and thank you for visiting my website! I'm currently a Junior at Millikan High school in Long Beach, California. I've been doing art since I  was a tiny little munchkin. When I was in pre-school I would always love to draw things like Elmo and the wiggles. My parents noticed my interest in art and would try to sign me up for art classes but they would never last long due to my thirst to rebel against anyone that told me what to do art. I continued to draw, I would try to draw any chance I got. On paper, Any worksheet is given by a teacher, on the desks, and even on occasion the chairs. As soon as middle started I kept doing my Usual drawing shenanigans but I started a new venture, Choir. To put it short and sweet I very much disliked it, after that nightmare, High School began and I decided to finally take a legitimate Art class. I go in with my sunglasses and overalls, the teacher looks at me up and down and told me to sit down and I began to paint and she told me to move to the back. I didn't last long in that class I had to switch schools due to some unfortunate circumstances. I wanted to try again and took art 1-2 again but this time, I finished the course. but then the Corona Happened and I moved again! this time to Millikan High school. The school signed me up for Art 1-2 but I decided to switch to AP art I thought It would be a risk but turns out, it would be one of the best decisions I made involving school. It was intimidating at first seeing all these people better than you/ It reminds me of that scene from Finding Nemo when Dory and the Clownfish enter the Shark room, then, after time I found my place and became comfortable, I have been comfortable ever since. I plan to continue AP art into my Senior year to Improve my skillset and hopefully grow as an artist and as a person.
